Input on vegan food

If you're an active follower on my instagram then you know that my husband, daughter and I have recently changed our diets and are now vegan. I know everybody has different opinions on this subject and are both good and bad. I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to shove my beliefs down anybody's throats, but I am entitled to my opinions and I have been getting a lot of questions on why I decided to change my diet and what I eat. So this is the main purpose for this post.

My husband Javier had been bringing up the subject of cutting out animal, and animal products from our diet. My first thought was honestly that he was crazy and that was never going to happen. Coming from a Hispanic family meat and dairy is a huge thing. I was raised to believe that we ate food for the flavor and satisfaction and not for nourishment and fuel. So trying to change that mentality was and is very difficult. But the key to being successful in this is substitution. Asking yourself what's my favorite food and how can I change it to be considered vegan. Trust me there's a substation for almost everything!

One of the many questions I get is "what do you feed your daughter" and the way I answer that question is I don't feed my daughter anything I wouldn't eat. So I want to make a small list of some of our favs.

  • Fried tofu (replacement for chicken nuggets)
  • Oreos
  • Scrambled tofu w/ turmeric (replacement for scrambled eggs)
  • Oatmeal topped with cranberries
  • Fried cauliflower w/ buffalo sauce (replacement for wings)
  • Soy chorizo
The list is honestly endless. It's a matter of doing your research.

If you like eating out the internet can tell you about so many restaurants that are vegan, or have vegan options. I will make a list of restaurants both local here in Las Vegas and some big chained restaurants

  • Chipotle
  • CafĂ© Rio
  • Go raw Cage
  • Oface Doughnuts
  • Simple Pure
  • A Slice of Vegas
  • Nacho Daddy
Thanks everybody for taking the time out of your day to read this blog post. if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me on instagram https://instagram.com/helloitsmari/

I plan on doing a part 2 of this blog on more of the "whys" the animal abuse, the processed food, and fast food.

introduction.

I want to start off my blog with a very short introduction! I've tried having a blog before and just couldn't keep up with, and I wouldn't write as much as I would have liked too. So here I am with try number two. Wish me luck!

Ok... My name is Maricela. I'm a mother to a little girl named Delilah Danielle, she's my entire world! She drives me freaking NUTS but she's seriously the funniest, craziest little girl ever! I'm married to her dad Javier. He's seriously such a hardworking, loving husband and father. He always puts his family before everything and anything!
I'm a self taught photographer, but currently expanding my work by going to school in hopes of becoming professional.
We're a family from Las Vegas, but recently decided to make a move too San Diego. Still deciding if this is the place for us but we're really loving it!

I'm just excited to see what the future brings for my little family and myself! Can't wait!

Delilah's Second Birthday Photo Shoot

I'm counting down the days till my baby girl turns two. November 24th is approaching fast, that's only 85 days away! All you mommas know the mixed emotions that come with your child getting older and growing up. When you become a parent time just zooms by, honestly I could just cry! Delilah has accomplished so much in her short life but I couldn't be happier. She's sassy, loving, feisty, smart, funny, and so so lovable! Well I can go on and on about my little one so i'll just post her pictures.

Thank You guys for taking the time to take a look.
